The Back Story

It all began in the old mining town of Jerome, Arizona with the Haunted Hamburger. The Haunted Hamburger clings to the mountainside overlooking the beautiful Verde Valley with views all the way to the San Francisco Peaks. The Haunted Group, five distinctive restaurants and a boutique hotel, prides themselves in exceeding expectations with really memorable food, great mixologists, and a really cool Euro-style hotel experience. 

Owners Eric and Michelle Jurisin have a passion for great food and personal service. They live above the Tavern Grille in Old Town Cottonwood and with this close proximity they are able to take a very hands-on approach to their businesses. Michelle is continuously creating new menu items, as she works closely with the kitchen crews at each of The Haunted Group restaurants. Michelle’s Wine Dinners at Grape’s are favorites for the Sedona, Cottonwood, Verde Valley locals. Recipes that she develops for the Wine Dinners frequently make their way to the menus in The Haunted Group. 

Exceptional food and terrific service are the guiding lights for The Haunted Group. You will be greeted by employees who have been on the scene for years, because they love the product just as much as the Jurisin's do. When you stay with us at the Tavern Hotel, you will love the feel of luxury in your room and the authentic feel of Old Town Main Street’s tasting rooms, restaurants, funky shops, and really colorful locals. The Tavern Grille and Nic’s are right out your front door and Grapes and the Haunted Hamburger are right up the hill in Jerome. The Tavern Grille in Scottsdale shares the same high standard for food and booze that the other restaurants have, along with long time employees who greet the regulars by name.
